La formación médica en cirugía ortopédica y traumatología referida al pie en el siglo XXI

Resumen:

La formación de los profesionales de la medicina tanto en el período pre y postgrado como durante su etapa posterior asistencial está de plena actualidad en este cambio de milenio en que, vertiginosamente, también se transforma la sociedad, y las expectativas de futuro científico y tecnológico son harto veloces y esperanzadoras.

La evolución de las diferentes patologías que asientan en el pie, los nuevos medios diagnósticos y tecnológicos aplicados a su estudio y tratamiento obligan a la renovación ininterrumpida del proceso formativo de los cirujanos ortopédicos y traumatólogos que se dedican especialmente a esta estructura, que, junto al cerebro y la mano, confiere su estatus al hombre.

Proponemos unas líneas generales para regular y adaptar la formación continuada en el siglo XXI, aspirando a un cada vez más completo estado del bienestar, teniendo en cuenta parámetros tan importantes como: la investigación, universalización, disciplinariedad, humanización, prevención, culturización y competencia y capacidad profesional.

Abstract:

The formation and training of medical professionals, both in the pregraduate and immediate postgraduate period and in the later assistential phase of their careers, is a currently very actual topic at this time of Millennium change, which has brought about far-ranging changes in society and rapid and encouraging expectancies regarding the scientific and technological future.

The evolution of the various pathological conditions affecting the foot and the new diagnostic and technologic means applied to their study and therapeutic management have brought about a need for uninterrupted renovation of the formative and training process for orthopaedic and traumatologic surgeons who dedicate their activities preferentially to this structure which, together with the brain and the hand, give Man his particular status.

We here propose some general guidelines for regulating and adapting ongoing training in the XXI^st Century, aiming at an ever more complete welfare and wellness status and considering such highly important parameters as research, universalisation, disciplinarity, humanisation, prevention, culturisation and professional capability and competence.
